About
We are two socially aware individuals that have taken on this project in order to do more than attend protests and make self-important Facebook statuses. Because we have the time, the funds, and the privilege, we have created KNEAD: a literary crevice for y(our) sore shoulders.
We really cannot stress enough: we are attempting to create an inclusive platform. We want to hear your voices because we are more than aware that our voices are just two of so many that have gone unheard and disrespected in the light of this political shit-storm. But more importantly: we are aware of our privilege as white individuals and have no desire to perpetuate exclusive activism in any form.
We are seeking to create a safe space for people who feel unrepresented by this political administration. We are primarily focused on poetry that comments on issues of social justice and environmental concerns (especially when these overlap, as they often do). If you feel your poetry fits within this crevice, do not hesitate to submit.

Format
Knead is a 16 page independent literary crevice. We are part-zine, part-journal, and part-experimental. The idea is: four units over four years to help our community of creatives cope with the Trump Administration. Knead exists in the constraint of four years, a constraint we place upon our President and many elected officials---after which they are called before us for judgement. Either we keep them in governmental power or we vote them out. Therefore, Knead is a reminder that the Trump Administration has an end, but we must vote to see that end. Furthermore, our local representatives are even more important than our federal ones, so register now and watch out for local elections in September.
Note: we do not mean to exclude those who cannot register to vote, on the contrary please keep watch for a new page on our website dedicated to providing helpful information on getting involved beyond voting.
